Social events provide a useful opportunity both in fundraising
and providing an opportunity for all sections of the club
to meet. The Finance and Social Committees led by Eddie Sheehan
and Noel Murphy had a busy year organising events for the
club.
Here is a summary of the
events held in 2005.
December : The club held a Christmas raffle
on December 15th in Tommys Yellowtown bar and the prizewinners
were as follows
1st Prize Laptop Computer Ita Long Crecora
2nd Prize Hamper Pat Sheehy Shannon
Other prizes went to Kevin Gleeson, Nick McNamara
and Josephine O’Leary.
November : An enjoyable Quiz evening was held
in Tommys Yellowtown bar on the 18th Nov. Kevin Hayes was
the quizmaster on the night. The result was in doubt to the
last round and the eventual winners were Philip Kennedy, Eddie
Sheehan, Gerry Keyes and Mike Kavanagh. Runners-up were Sean
Burke, Carmel Burke, Pat Monaghan and Francis Monaghan.
June : The club in co-operation with the Crecora Scout group
organised a Family Day at the Little Orchard Adventure Centre
in June and despite the weather was a great success.
The Club Golf Outing was in held in Rathbane and the winners
were Philip Kennedy, John Fitzgerald and Ger Carey.
The Club held a Quiz evening in August in Schooners bar in
Limerick which was won by Kevin Hayes, Peadar Henehan, Breda
Hayes and John Browne.
The Club Annual Dinner Dance was held in the Woodlands House
Hotel in Adare where the Junior hurlers were presented with
the City Junior medals which they had won in the previous
year.
Over the years the club has been innovative and energetic
in organising events to support the club. See gallery for
details of previous fundraising and social events.
We would like to thank everybody who helped
organise these events, the sponsors and all the people who
gave their support by attending.
